Our Team
Yuliana Alvarez - Owner, Head Designer and Creative Director
Yuliana Alvarez is an accomplished architectural designer and entrepreneur based in Waco, Texas, with over two decades of experience in the construction industry. She holds degrees in Architectural Studies and Construction Management from Washington State University.
Yuliana’s expertise spans new construction and the meticulous restoration of historic homes, where she emphasizes period-appropriate details. Her creative approach is deeply client-centered, focusing on understanding individual routines and preferences to craft personalized, functional designs.
Her commitment to excellence and innovation has significantly contributed to the architectural landscape of Waco, with notable projects that blend aesthetic appeal with practical functionality. Beyond her professional endeavors, Yuliana is a mother of three, adeptly balancing the demands of entrepreneurship and family life. She is also dedicated to mentoring other women in architecture and construction, advocating for increased female representation and support within the industry.
Erica DeMaria - Design Assistant
Erica studied Residential planning at the Art Institute of Pittsburg and Business Management at McLennan Community College. With over 3 years of experience in the design industry, Erica is an expert interior designer and drafter, with an eye for detail. She is the drafter and plan builder on the team. Erica loves historical homes and architecture and is passionate about restoration and remodel of homes and spaces. When she is at home with her family of 3, one of Erica’s creative outlets is gardening.
Katriel Barbur - Design Assistant
Katriel has a degree in Studio Art and Design from Baylor University, as well as over 3 years of professional industry experience that has given her a skilled eye for design, display, interiors and aesthetics. She is passionate about creating beautiful spaces and environments tailored specifically to people’s needs and bringing to life creative visions. Waco has been home for Katriel for many years. When she's not working, she enjoys painting, drawing, spending time with friends and loved ones, as well as being in nature, all things she draws creative inspiration from.
Marlee Begor - Office and Accounts Manager
With over 7 years of professional finance experience in the construction and design world, Marlee manages the finances and accounts within the Construction Chic, as well as brings organization and order to the creativity within the company. Her value for communication and efficiency has given her the incredible ability to make Construction Chic a well-oiled machine. She and her family have called Waco home since 2018.
